No one on AIM is responding to me. Perhaps they all know that I should be studying... but...
I have to tell someone.
Lunchables are way tastier than I remember them being. No wonder I wanted them so much as a kid.

Another lazy day spent poking around various websites, studying, and just being a complete waste of time, really. Well, the studying was useful, I suppose. Calc 2 a second time, first big test... Sometimes I wonder why I didn't drop it last semester but I remember that I was stupid in the past.
I am really good at singing, supposedly. Then again, they were a lot of old drunk people that were complementing me (as well as the non-drunk group of us, including Yarden.. who is biased). Oh, yeah, I went to Charlottesville with Yarden and Savanna (they're from there) as well as Jeremy (my roomate) and Rosa-anna. Savanna's family was having a big birthday for her grandma.. and their family is really cool. Us "kids" weren't drinking, but we did get to do a shitton of karaoke, and my rendition of Ring of Fire was a huge hit (mainly because I've somehow learned to impersonate Johnny Cash in all his voice-like badassery... I've yet to work on the rest of his badassery) as well as some of the other songs we sang (like Two Princes by the Spin Doctors and Piano Man). And holycrap. Savanna's cat looks identical to my cat Lily... 'cept her tail is fluffy and Lily's isnt... Still, it freaked me out. She also has the same personality, so she immediately got all lovey with me then stopped doing so to gnaw on my hand for a bit. >D
I still need to do laundry... fuck, I hate laundry. And dishes. Cleaning things in general besides my desk (which consists of rearrangement, mainly) is about all I enjoy or am good at. I'm still gettin' used to this whole responsibility over oneself and one's stuff... At least Calc is the only class I'm slightly worried about. Business, Soci, Judo, and English are all looking good. My English class is bad ass and is mainly just a discussion forum with like two papers to write the entire thing. And Soci is taught by my favorite professor who rocks, so it's quite enjoyable also. Anyhow, I should be going to finish studying before my test tomorrow. Until next time, random viewer.

Just got back from a show at the Black Cat con Eli, Thomas Handiboe, and Katie (Eli's girlthing) and I'm so glad we sporadically chose to go see Pelican. They fucking rocked out, so I rocked out too cept there was not as epic of headbanging from me because my hair isn't long enough... It was still badass. I'm gonna try finding more stuff by them.
I have this tendency to favor bands I see and hear for the first time at the Black Cat. Such a good atmosphere and awesome music, always.
Otherwise with my life, there has been reading (not done with HP7 yet, but will be soon), working (working hard? Naw, more like hardly working!), chillin' and celebrating (Bethany's escape from the womb shindig was thrown friday, and it was awesome. All the people there get most kick assedness awards). My apartment/room is redecorated too thanks to Michele, and it is also in good working order, plus the fabrics we hung over the window/bed area block out the sun. Fuck you, daystar, I'm siding with David on this one.
Speaking of David... My favorite character from Harry Potter has to freaking be Luna Lovegood. She's so badass and amazing. And also reminds me of David in a few ways. If they had children, they'd be so spacey that they'd most likely defy gravity out of sheer will.
Also, Wes Anderson movie albums rock face.

Sitting here, full of bad spaghetti and meatballs and a Mr Pibb, I wonder why I look through my physics notebook and I can't help but think, "I really think that Banjo Kazooie was a fantastic game."
Perhaps there is a bit of a lack of focus to my studies lately. Or perhaps that game is just so awesome that I seem to remember it at 1:30 AM, seven and a half hours before my physics test on a crapton of chapters with no formula sheet. Memorizing the relation of force and work in accordance with integrals and derivatives with respect to x? Fuck that, I'd rather try and remember what button combination made you use Kazooie as an egg-spitting machine gun.
Perhaps adulthood comes too soon, or childhood doesn't last quite long enough to satiate.
I think it was holding Z and hitting the B button. But I'm really not sure.

Yet again, I go a huge amount of time between posts until I find something to say. Well, I don't really have a lot to say, although, a lot has happened between now and then (with then being the last time I posted.) So, let's start with this getting over sickness thing. We can backtrack, if you really care to read my ramblings at 12PM on nyquil.
So, I woke up a week ago today, Sunday, sick as a dog. I tried to eat some soup, but it was at the school convenience store about an eight minute walk away or so, so I walked that, found only tomtato soup, came back and proceeded to vomit up half my soup. Then I played some WoW, where Bren and Cheryl helped keep me alive by telling me to eat and by helping me kill stuff. Then I eventually slept, and woke up Monday. Waking up Monday at 6AM left me.. Delirious (I still thought there were orcs in the room from playing WoW the day before) and very hungry. And since I had eaten all my food, I called mum to come help me. So I spent the rest of the day napping, eating soup, and taking nyquil at home while watching Rambo and stuff. Rambo is really awesome to watch while you're sick and still slightly groggy/delirious. So all this last week has sucked a lot, and been me constantly on some kind of medication so my cough will go away. But it is going away now, so I am happy. Now that this is done.
A week from yesterday, Saturday, was a fucking awesome time. Emmanuel, being the silly bastard he is, saw a bumper sticker for a band called Middle Distance Runner and called me and was like "Hey Gerry! I saw a bumper sticker for a band, and looked them up, and they're playing this Saturday. You should spend ten dollars to come see it with me and maybe Kenneth and Maisel." And that was who went. Also, it was twelve dollars; that sneaky lying bastard. So, we suckered Kenneth into driving and with Emmanuel as navigator, we sufficiently got stuck making about half a dozen u-turns and finally parking the car in a strip mall parking lot with the assumption that if we got a ticket, me and Emmanuel would pay for it because the other two thought the parking spot on the road, with the cops patrolling around, was a safer bet (with a parking meter that wont let us put more than an hour in it). So, we went to see these bands at the Rock and Roll Hotel. The opening bands were, in this order: Crash Bang Boom, The Dead Trees, The Epochs, Middle Distance Runner. So, we get there and it's the four of us and a group of like... eight girls that look to be about sophmores in highschool. The first band eventually comes up (after we enter and leave like three times to get food, and for Maisel to get food seperate from us, thus making us good friends with the door gals who talked to us a lot in the mean time) and they are.. mediocre. But said girls were insanely obsessed with them and then spent the rest of the night chatting with them and taking pictures and whatnot. In the transition from band to band, the next band (The Dead Trees) finds themselves with no one near the front of the stage within a good... I dunno, like fifteen feet or so? After hearing the beginning of their first song, and being slightly loosened up from the first band (or the hope that this second band would be good, I should say) I headed out to stand nearby and dance as much as I felt like. Which, according to Maisel, was "Emo dancing" but it was really just a guy standing there dancing, with long hair. Speaking of which, my hair is getting much longer now, which is a sort of annoyance but also kind of cool looking. Moving back to the story, I proceeded to dance my ass off for this one, which proved to be a sort of silly idea because, having not been out for a while and been in class all week sitting on my ass, my back started to hurt like the mother fucker it is. So after that band, Maisel proceeded to tell me my dancing was weird even though he was just standing in the back with Kenneth, whereas even Emmanuel came up and stood closer and was like "dude these guys are good." But then, the crowd starts piling in as the third band is setting up. So many more people than for either of the other two, and as they come on, The Epochs prove to fucking kick ass. I wish I could have danced more for them, but I was much more crammed and my back also hurt. Still, they were awesome, and reminded me a lot of Hot Chip. Yeah, blame Emmanuel for all this music obsession lately.
Perhaps I'll move this more towards a music blog of sorts. But how many people actually read my LJ? Like... 4? And definitely not to read all this shit I've typed, because it is mainly just my ranting about what's happened in the past week or two.
To finish the story, Middle Distance Runner came on and sucked ass. They were a huge let down, a huge like screaming too noisy, too angry pile of crap, so I went outside and talked up some chicas who looked to know a lot about the Epochs, and learned a lot about them and the band and whatnot. Then Maisel, Emma, and Kenneth came out and we all left and the car wasn't towed.
What we learn though is that... Emmanuel's hunches may not always be the best, but they somehow lead to great things like opening bands that rock. A list of bands you all should check out, if you're still reading, consist of: The Epochs, The Dead Trees, Hot Chip, LCD Soundsystem, Of Montreal (the failed concert from 3 weeks ago, which we didn't get into 'cause we all ran out of tickets. A large lesson learned, there) and also the band I've been listening to lately because of Sn00ze: Socratic.
I was also just told by Lyn that I should check out Hinder. I've not heard of them either, but it is something else I need to do. I should get a new music downloading program, but I also might just get Cheryl to do it and send it to me, or Sn00ze or.. Wait, Emmanuel! I've got the first Dead Trees album that he needs to burn, and in return I'll make him download a lot of stuff. As for you, you can always leave me a note if you want, or poke me on AIM or something if you want some music. Emmanuel tends to give away lots of free CDs and after they're on my computer, I don't have much use for them (since Emmanuel gives MP3 CDs and not music CDs that can go to my car) so I might have some to pass on.
As for this week: it's gonna suck. Physics test thursday that will rape me. I had a Calc test last thursday that already raped me, and I get the results back on that. I've got work to make up for since I didn't work last week in being sick, and I've got a karate quiz and I missed one of the techniques so I don't even know how to do it. It is also past midnight and I need to sleep 'cause I'm sick. Awesome start to a promising week. Also, if you can't already tell, the grammatical structure of my sentences is atrocious. I really need to work on that because my sociology teacher keeps yelling at me for it in the papers I write and also because I hate spending so much time going back and picking at sentences and moving stuff around to make it look correct. Because all of this looks weird as shit.

Random Wikipedia articles rule... For stuff like this.
Ridin' in style
In other, probably less hilarious news, my last midterm (calc) is on Monday... As always, I haven't done any of the homework and never pay attention in class (the people I sit with bring their laptops and play gunbound... and I naturally watch because that game is much more interesting than the russian guy that is trying to teach us). So, I should probably get that stuff done... I also need to get tickets for the GMU mainstage show I have to see for my theatre clasS (oh, and it also looks interesting) The Shape of Things which is some weird adaptation of Adam and Eve(lyn). Our teacher is the director for it, so she's been talking about it a lot and even bringing in actors and stuff for us to ask questions, and all that.
That's about it.... Well, I could say the horribly full week I had last week, but I don't really feel like typing it up and I should probably go run or do something useful. I find it weird that my ADJ class (101) that I really don't like and shouldn't have taken, has more bullshit to do and know than my 300 level soci class.... ~_~ then again, I'm actually enjoying the soci class (and barely keeping up with the amount of reading).

Why am I still awake?
I need to stop letting songs talk to me.
Well, Take them all for the long ride And go around town, no one will be uptight anymore. You can be ashamed to be so proud of what you've done But not no one, not now, not ever anyone. Take 'em all for the sense of happiness that comes from hurting deep down inside.

So today's been busy... Paper due, theatre class (which is actually enjoyable, I specifically buy coffee before hand to make sure I don't sleep through it) and the ever dreaded reattachment of my braces... Just to the bottom row, but it will still be a hassle for the next four to six months... Stupid bottom right canine trying to evacuate what is a seemingly fine row of teeth otherwise.
Yesterday I was online and the internet died on me... I called it into the ITU dept here at Mason, call back at six after my last class with no response to them... "Oh yeah, a field technician has picked up your ticket but... They go home around five, so you'll probably get a call tomorrow." .... Yeaaah. I told Victor and the other guys in my trailer and the first thing outta Victor's mouth is, "WHAT?! How am I supposed to play Video Games without the internet?!?!?" It was quite hilarious. So last night we were all around and bored as shit.... I was working on my soci paper when all of a sudden the lights in the entire trailer flash. Then I hear some giggling from the other room. I walk over there and it seems that Bisrat and Perry got so bored they decided to fuck around with our breaker switches.... And delete a page of my report in the process. And also fry circuits in our bathroom and in Yimeng's room (prnounced Yi Mung) .... So those crazy bastards. NOTE TO SELF: Do not leave pretty switches around bored college kids with a few beers.... ~_~
The day before I pledged to APO, Alpha Phi Omega. It's a coed community service pledge that is affiliated with the boy scouts, sorta. It's cheap as shit ($50 a semester) and the people in it are kick ass (Like Cristen, and some of the pledges I met) so all in all it looks like this is gonna kick ass. Yes, I know I bashed people for paying for friends but I'm not just paying for friends, I'm paying for an affiliation with something good and putting my money into something that helps the community and things in the entire area. I don't think we have any ditzy "blonde" girls... Cept maybe Cristen. >D She's silly sometimes, but was quite excited I was pledging. I'm going to enjoy it, methinks.
I also dropped by to annoy le grandiose Bob Irelan today, and of course I walk into the room and he's just walking around not teaching, as always.... Not really, they were doing worksheets but we got to discuss Jacob and he laughed at my pledge pin. I gotta wear this thing day in and day out for the rest of the sem... Silly pledging duties, but it's a small task to not lose a pin. Then again, I've failed at easier tasks.
Time for some food con chicas bonitas here at Mason. Also, free concerts on fridays is nice here at Mason... That's where I saw these guys (Stephen Kellogg and the Sixers) and the main guy was funny as shit. Also, I applied for a job. If I don't get it, I'll apply for a few more. I really want it though, it's at the cinema on campus and is just sitting around watching movies or monitoring a popcorn machine for seven bucks an hour. /Pray for Job.

So today was... interesting, to say the least.
Theater class is gonna rock. The teacher is youngish and energetic and is gonna make us do all sorts of shit like participate and actually understand acting and theater... As opposed to just a lecture course, which I thought it was gonna be. I'm excited about it.
Then Maisel called me and convinced me to run with him.... He ran six miles, I ran about two and some change... I'm freakishly proud of myself 'cause it was hot as hell out today at 11 and I made it the entire way around patriot circle without stopping. Then we hit the pool to swim, which added to the pain that feels so awesome right now, then food and Soci (Stupid tiredness amde me fall asleep in Soci, but just for a few minutes) then the cap of my pen got stuck on too tight and I tried to pull it off just to empty ink all over the place. Go figure, but the nice gal infront of me had an extra pen so I wasn't completely shit outta luck.
So atfer that I had some time to scramble around trying to get my classes together so I can take calc and get headed in the direction of a Physics Major. Yeah, I think I decided but it might change to something else science-like next sem. But definitely something science. But of course Mason is an amazing and very well managed school *coughcough* and I have to take a math placement test again to get into the calc class I want... So I went today around 4:30, it lasts until 6:30. . . .
Got there, and the line is down a hallway and almost all the way back to the door. Fantastic, I say to myself, and get in line. I play some old calculator games on my calc to waste some time, then bullshit some convo with some girls planning to see a movie but didn't know which theatres nearby were good. Then while talking to some lady about horses this young gal next to me exclaims something under her breath and suddenly my ears are assaulted by the loud ringing of a fire alarm. But not the entire building fire alarm, just that one that she happened to be leaning on. It seems that the fire alarm had an alarm set on the plastic cause that surrounds it and the bracelet of said girl got caught on it and she accidently yanked it up just enough to set it off. Go figure. So we sit there for about twenty minutes, still in line waiting for this fucking test and a police officer saunters in to fuck with the alarm and try and turn it off. So he clumsily takes the plastic cover off and walks around a bit, calls someone, takes out his big ass key set to try and get the right one to turn it off... And then decides to pull the alarm and run off. So the entire building is now alight and alive with fire alarm noises and we all curse under our breath as we have to leave, and then wait until FRIDAY to take our test.
Never seen a police officer pull a fire alarm until today... But it was pretty funny over all. And I'm tired as shit from all the runnin' and waitin' and drivin' around to buy shit (I got a TV! but had to leave it at mum's 'cause they close the gate that goes up to the place I live after 1900) and now I just need some kind of futon couch thing that will fit into the room to sit on and watch movies and shit and I think I'm good to go. W00t.

Well, first night before classes is where I'm gonna start. Met all the guys that live in this place with me (Imagine a big trailer with two living rooms, a kitchen read fridge, sink, and microwave, two bathrooms and a room per person.) I managed to get lucky and get one of the bigger rooms, but it's too empty... Need to get a small futon-like sitting thing and a TV + Stand. So I can play FINAL FANTASY SEVEN: DIRGE OF CERBERUS OMGOGMOMGOMGMOMG! 'Cause me and cheryl went and bought it on Sunday and I've been itchin' to play it.. but alas, no TV means no Vincent Valentine being awesome. So met them all, they're cool people. And then I realized my Theater class (previously scheduled for 9AM today) was on the Prince William campus which is about thirty some minutes away... Yeah, screw that. Dropped it and Theater is now a tuesday class. I've got a good three and a half hour block of class tomorrow that it starts off. Shall be super fun.
Today just went to class... Almost fell asleep in Intro to Administration of Justice... They just re-read the syllabus that they sent us and told us to read last week. Go figure. I need to find some more people on campus to meet up with.. though today I saw so many people.... It's weird, this happened at the beginning of both previous semesters. I'd see almost everyone I know in the first two weeks of class then I'd never see anyone again, cept maybe Kenneth but we'd just complain about how boring shit was and other whiny things. Got class in at six.. Fuck. The only bad part of this place I'm living is that it is way far off in the boonies of Mason... It's a freakin' hike anywhere. Guess I need to run more and get that stamina up and get used to it. And now, time to read some books. (Wait, no WoW? Who the fuck is this typing?)

Just got back from Darcy's house, ugh that drive out to McLean is annoying, especially with beltway traffic but I guess I can learn to get used to it. It's weird that tomorrow is my last day of living at my house here; Saturday I move into Mason. Yeah, I got a single apartment on campus (w00t!) just the other day, some sucker didn't want it or something and I got lucky. No roomates, 2400 bucks a semester (yeowch but it'll be nice) and an entire room to myself now... And I've got nothing to put there, heh. Gotta get a TV and some other crap, and fix my blasted computer. I got home yesterday and it happened to have turned itself off and wouldn't turn back on, I go to check it out today and it seems the power supply died. Popped my old one in it and I can't run WoW or it'll overheat. Which is perfectly fine seeing as I haven't been playing regularly for almost two weeks now.
Kenneth shall be indoctrinated into the Wendy's Late Night Crew soon... muahhahaha. He went last night with me after I got back from McLean, it seemed like he did enjoy it. And with my own place at Mason, he and many others can just come chill randomly. I think it shall be quite awesome, indeed. As is this cold gatorade, lemon-lime flavor is the shit. Now, for sleep. Tomorrow shall be great early-birthday fun for me. Eighteen on sunday... Fuck, I like being 17. Oh well, life goes on.

Snakes on a Plane was freakin' awesome. Was pretty gory and still quite hilarious even throughout the horrible massacre led by the snakes. Sn00ze, David, and I were laughing pretty much through the entire thing, along with the group of kids behind us that were yelling things at Samuel L. Jackson. I doubt he could hear them, but they tried anyway with hilarious results.
School is here on the 28th; I cannot wait. Finally, as all of us who become burdened by the freedom and lack of things to do, I will have something to do with a majority of my time besides WoW or sleep. It will be a relief to have responsibilites to someone not my family again. I really wish I could be on campus but alas, Mason's popularity and lack of on-campus housing leads to an almost impossibility of getting onto campus if you were never on it to start with (they have some thing about always giving freshman places to stay, and if you were on campus you get priority and also an earlier chance to apply for housing) but it will be okay because I will be harrassing the shit out of Kenneth Lai, also known as Dr. Tran, and many other things. Though Burke is quite boring overall.
Go see Snakes on a Plane.... Also, if you're still in this area or during breaks are looking for a theatre, Kingstowne 16 is a great theatre, usually pretty empty and it is closer than Hoffman.. Actually, it is on the way to Hoffman. Just follow the Fairfax County Parkway past Springfield mall and the IHOP up there and on the left will appear a shopping center.
Now, off to run.

Pool tables are awesome. Also playing pool with a bunch of novices, like myself, is awesome for hours on end. On a completely unrelated note, Sn00ze got a pool table in his basement and it totally kicks ass. I wish it wasn't as far away, though. And I got to show Eric and Co. The Royal Tenenbaums, and they seemed to like it. Eric wanted a copy but they do some weird tracking thing with new DVDs that doesn't allow easy ripping to computers. Ah, well. Back on the topic of pool though, I managed to get the eight ball on the tip of one of the pockets without knocking it in prior to most of the other balls going in pockets of their own.. Meaning an entire part of the table was almost off limits, until David knocked in the eight ball. Cheap wins are fun, but it is all more for just practice. Pool is an awesome Saturday night activity.
Day before that I got to chill with Eli for a freakishly long and awesome time. We (Me, Eli, and two kids named Blechman and Tucker) decided it would be a great idea to take Eli's support ribbon "Collection" and put it on his car. We covered both sides of doors, hood, the entire back, and his roof. We drove around for a while in it, lots of people gave us funny looks. >D I've got pictures on my phone but I've yet to realize how to transfer the two, probably via E-mail would work best, but I am horribly lazy. Then we got to meet this awesome lady from the Czech Republic who works at the pool near Eli's house. Her name is Barbara, she's got a cool accent, and multiple tatoos, one of which is a reference to a song by Radiohead and the other is Red Hot Chili Peppers.
And in current news I've got to work tomorrow so I should probably sleep soon, lest I fall asleep behind the wheel of the lawn mower... Or trimmer, which might be a bit more awesome and dangerous for those around me. Blasted Jacob ran off somewhere and didn't tell me.. I wanted some Wendy's too. ><; Oh well. And here's a shameless plug for $5 large cheese pizzas!
Every monday Jerry's Subs and Pizzas sells large cheese pizzas for five dollars after three PM (or 1500 for you 24 hour people) so you should maybe go get a pizza.. It's super cheap, and you might run into me and Jacob. If you're headed to the one off Burke Centre Parkway that is.

Argh, m'legs hurt from running yesterday combined with working today. It was a weak run too.. but it was a run. I'm proud of myself. Maybe again tomorrow unless it doesn't stop hurting. And got to run around (via car) to Mason back and forth to help Maisel with his movie, which looks to be pretty interesting. I still wanna see Emmanuel beating up on Cross. >D
Besides that life's been pretty lazy. Just WoW and some random work and awesome movies (Wes Anderson kick still applies.. That guy makes awesome movies.) And Jacob has officially moved into the basement, an entire corner is now devoted to his shit. Like four bags and some other random stuff. Crazy bastard.
Denver, like always, is watching some war thing.. I think it is Band of Brothers, which I do need to see at some point. In its entirety. Perhaps one day, and still need to make Cheryl get Bottle Rocket.. Hrm.
Note to everyone that might play Star Craft and read this: Need to play more. Lan, Online, Hamachi, whatever. Need Starcraft. =P

August 3rd... First birthday my mother will have without my father in many a long year. He would always do something nice, even if it was just going out to eat at her favorite restaurant (which changed when her old one got taken over by another company and the sauces changed and started to suck.. stupid Beni Hana or whatever it is) So she is out for the day, I don't know where she went but I hope she's coping with it well. Planning on cleaning up a bit more of the house at some point today, but it might not be more than just vacuuming. Have to see.
It's odd thinking I'll be in the same situtation in 24 days. Hrm.
Besides that I've been busying myself around town with Jacob Cox, that lazy bastard. And watching some awesome movies. Any movie directed by Wes Anderson is amazing. All four of them being Life Aquatic, Royal Tenenbaums, Rushmore, Bottle Rocket (which I've yet to see). He's also making one now based on a book by Roald Dahl called the Fantastic Mr. Fox. I think it'll be cool.
I haven't actually posted much in the way of usefulness on this thing in a while, cept that little blurb last Sunday. Even that was just a vague quote from Fight Club. Eh. I have been getting better at Starcraft thanks to the Russians playing it so much lately. And eating all my chips, those bastards. Baked original Lays are incredibly awesome chips. And tea to go with them, but I've only got one part of that equation currently.
On a totally different note, because Zelda is awesome. Zelda, The Walk of Shame.
It is quite hilarious. Link just loves to knock back the red potion. >D
